This year's vintage is certainly different from previous years.   A wet winter, cool and wet summer, and very little sun.   Verasion is patchy and the white varieties usually picked at the end of January/ mid February, look as though it will be the end of February.   The last week we have seen lots of hot sun, so perhaps the reds will come in by the end of March, which is the usual time for our vineyard.   Our poplar trees which during autumn are popular with photographers, have decided that autumn has arrived, and are already putting on their golden leaves.    Here's to a successful harvest!

Woohoo - Our 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, Best Queensland Red at the Australian Small Winemakers Show last year (2011) has just been awarded 5 stars by Winestate.   Boy oh boy!

Harrington Glen Estate would like to advise their customers they are still producing "Simply Red"  which is not to be confused with the Men's Shed "Symply Red"  We have been producing this wine since 2002, which is a sweet red served chilled.   In the meantime, we wish the Men's Shed well, and hope their wine sells well.

Harrington Glen Owners are aging and wish to move on from this magnificent property.   Anone with marketing skills has a fully operational business, and a healthy lifestyle.    All offers considered.

We have just won silver for our 2011 Verdelho and top of show, plus Gold top of class for our 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon.    We actually received 3 trophies for our 2011 Verdelho, top Mediterranean White wine, top Mediterranean White wine for Queensland, and top of Class.    The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon also won a trophy for top of class.   The 2011 Petit Verdot won a bronze.   These were at the RASQ Toowoomba Show.

Unfortunately, when the book went to print, a mistake was made classifying our winery as 3 1/2 stars.   It has now been rectified, and can be verified on James Halliday's site.    We received 93, 4 1/2 stars for our 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, 90 also 4 1/2 stars for our Petit Verdot, and 89 - 4 stars for our 2012 Verdelho.

We have recently been awarded 5 stars by winestate equal top with a McClarenvale Cabernet for our 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon.    We have just entered it into the World's top Cabernet Sauvignon tasting.    Here's hoping!!!   Also won a gold medal at the RASQ in Toowoomba.    4 stars from Halliday.
